the project applies several deep learning models with TensorFlow to solve practical problems. After some trivial practices, it mainly focuses on applying Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to computer vision problems. Machine Learning for Higgs Boson Detection
Discovery of the long awaited Higgs boson was announced July 4, 2012. The goal of the project is to explore the potential of advanced machine learning methods to improve the discovery significance of the experiment. Using simulated data with features characterizing events detected by ATLAS, our task was to classify events into “tau tau decay of a Higgs boson” versus “background.”
